Barletta Seeks to Restore SCAAP Funding

True immigration reformer Rep. Lou Barletta (R-Pa.) is calling on his colleagues to reject President Obama’s fiscal year 2015 budget, which undermines immigration enforcement, and instead provide “robust funding” for the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP). The SCAAP program provides federal money to states and local municipalities for the costs they incur from the incarceration of criminal aliens. Remarkably, the President’s budget would eliminate this vital program, forcing cash-strapped municipal governments to foot the bill for locking up dangerous aliens.

In response to the President’s budget, Rep. Barletta is asking Members of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies—the committee of jurisdiction for funding the SCAAP program—to “sufficiently fund SCAAP.” “Not providing robust funding for this important program provides a disincentive to incarcerate illegal immigrants and puts our constituents and all American citizens at risk. We are disappointed that this administration completely disregards the rule of law and is passing the buck to my constituents,” the letter charges.

The people currently occupying the White House are doing everything they can to undermine the USA and weeken her, we need to send all illegals back to where they came from and not hold them in our jails or prisons, we need to stop giving free everything to them while our people that have worked and paid taxes are now starving and living in the streets, we also need to clear the Supreme Court, House, Congress, and Senate of the thieves that have been bought by liberals that only care about there pocketbooks.

We need enforcement of existing laws. How can our government seriously be talking about reform when we haven’t attempted to enforce what is already on the books. It is the lack of enforcement that has created our situation today. ENFORCE first!

budget cuts have been made that hurt our Citizens and we are supporting illegals due to leadership. Looks like we need to deport all of them force them to repay what they have received illegally. Those who are so gung ho for amnesty need to be deported along with all of the illegals including +++++.

Thank you Rep. Barletta for seeking the funds to restore SCAAP which will protect the security of this Country. How do we get our other politicians to follow in your footsteps?

I am disgusted the “pandered in chief” does not enforce at least the deportation of criminal aliens. He is a liar. If resources are limited, why did he try to close interior border patrol stations in west texas in 2011?

we need to punish these criminals, not force the states to accept them. stop coddling them and punish them to the fullest extent of the law.
