Last Friday, the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute released results of its latest poll. The poll covered issues ranging from the U.S. economy to the performance of the Supreme Court on the heels of the recent Obamacare arguments.
Some of the more interesting results came from questions it posed about the issue of immigration. The questions were in reference to the upcoming Supreme Court hearing regarding Arizona’s SB 1070 law, the state’s immigration enforcement law. Overall, approval of the law increased from 61 percent in November 2011, to 68 percent in April 2012 – with 62 percent believing that the Supreme Court should uphold Arizona’s law.
However, the most striking result came from reaction among Hispanics where it found that 47 percent of Hispanics approve of Arizona’s immigration law, and that 45 percent (a plurality) want the new state’s law upheld by the Supreme Court (see questions 47 and 48 near the bottom of the poll).
While the mainstream media continues to ignore such results, the facts show that steps for increased immigration enforcement are popular among most of the U.S. Electorate, including Hispanic voters.

A Call For Comprehensive Immigration Reform
Just like this guy calling for amnesty, just because everone has been trying to cram it down our thoats for years, none of our politicians seem to reflect the overwhelming majority of Americans that are opposed to amnesty, the Dream Act, birthright citizenship, refundable tax credits for their children, in-state tuition for illegal aliens, prosecutorial discretion and work permits, there is no end to the fraud being perpetrated on the American people. When are we finally going to have fair and free elections so that our elected representatives represent the desires of the American people, not the desires of the million dollar political campaign donor base. I didn’t sell my rights to anyone. Who are they buying them from except our crooked politicians.
Bill, I feel exactly the same way. I wrote a letter to every Gov. Sen and Congress person and the President regarding the cost to keep these illegals in our country and the impact they are having on our economy and our citizens. Obama never responded and I never heard from anyone other than Sen Burr stating he was in favor of patrolling the border. 120 Billion Dollars is spent on an annual basis to maintain these illegals here – US citizens compete for jobs – states are in the red because of the financial burden – crime and drug dealings continue to increase, only to name of the few of the problems we are faced with keeping these illegals in America. It doesn’t appear our elected are concerned with what the people want as long as they get their paychecks and raises. How can we say we are a democracy if our elected are not listening to us.
Interesting poll result that concurs with all the other polling on this. There is nothing “controversial” about enforcing our laws against illegal aliens!
Sorry for going off topic here, but Mitt Romney said today that he is reviewing and likes part of Marco Rubio’s new Dream Act amnesty scheme, stating he likes the part that it does not (ostensibly) create a new category of citizenship, which we know is claptrap — as this is just a slow motion AMNESTY that would encourage more illegal immigration.
Please call Governor Etch.A.Sketch, I mean Mitt Romney, and tell him not to so obviously and blatantly flip flop on this issue and support a Dream Act amnesty which he has opposed for years, even bashing Rick Perry on this just a few months ago.
And please remind him that a new report shows that over half of American college grads are jobless or underemployed, and this Dream Act amnesty would further hurt their job prospects and livlihoods!
