I honestly thought I was reading a headline from “The Onion” this morning when this caught my eye – “New Haven Asks State to Allow Non-Citizens to Vote.”
Unfortunately, it was another too real article about efforts by New Haven, Conn., Mayor John DeStefano to ask the State Legislature to allow illegal aliens who live in the city to be able vote in municipal elections. It is estimated that 10,000 to 12,000 illegal aliens reside in New Haven.
While states like Arizona, South Carolina, and Alabama are being sued by the federal government for their attempts to enforce the immigration laws that are on the books, this case seems to have slipped right under Attorney General Holder’s radar, or maybe not.

Aren’t American Citizens the only people that should be allowed to vote? Guess politicians look at a vote as a vote and really don’t care who the vote comes from………that is why they really don’t care about the Constitution…….it is a real shame……..

And my (non) representative, Rush Holt, is letting us know in advance that he will not support any type of voter verification, because voter fraud is not an issue and it would be too inconvenient for us to prove that we have the right to vote because we are LEGAL US citizens. Another left wing socialist who wants re-election any way he can get it. He is exactly the type of representative we need to throw out of office.
New Haven is inviting all the unfortunate, pennyless, starving refugees from all of the overpopulated countries in the world to crash our borders and sign up for the gravy train. It’s too bad they don’t have to pay the billions these illegal immigrants have already cost our country. Isolate, prosecute, and deport all of this riffraff and return this country to its citizens.

If the Connecticut state legislature permits this, the state should be sued in Federal court. If the federal court system then upholds the “right” of citizens of other countries who are in our country illegally to vote in our elections, it will no longer be possible for our government to claim that the United States of America is a sovereign country.
This Mayor is as bad as New York’s Mayor. And they’re all as bad as Luis Gutierrez. How did this once-great country spawn so many traitors? It definitely is not the country in which I was born many years ago.

I live in AZ. and we are trying to get back to being Americans in a recognizable USA. Fed. statutes do not allow sanctuary cities. Not a legally recognized format for city govt.. In uber liberal East coast cities, maybe the illegals are so cossetted and loved they are demanding the vote? Here, we are trying so hard to enforce existing state and Fed. laws. Our Sheriffs are constantly targeted by the feds.. Holder? Mr. Fast and Furious himself keeps aiming for our laws and freedoms. We carry guns openely here. Have to. Home invasions by drug cartels are common. Our ranchers are murdered while tending herds. So, yes–we carry. We have 35 sq. miles posted by the feds. as too dangerous for Americans to enter. Those miles are in Maricopa/Pinal counties where the Feds are trying to unseat the Sheriff. Recall your Mayor. It’s easy. We recall Governors on a regular basis. If we could get rid of Grijalva-US Rep. who stood with the illegals and called for economic warfare–boycotts–against his own voters! Nice guy. We created a district just for him and his illegals. My Rep. is Giffords. Holder wont look up the right word: treason.
The only reason these democrat politicians want to allow illegals to vote is so they will be guaranteed reelection. When politicians are only interested in being reelected instead of upholding our constitutional laws it is pass time to get rid of them. They should all be tried for treason, according to our constitutional laws. Remember, all of our elected officials have sworn an oath to uphold our constitution against all tyranny [abuse of power], both foreign and domestic[here in the U.S.]. What we now have in America, are politicians, republicans and democrats alike, that could care less about your and my constitutional rights, or our constitution. This is a very dangerous time for America and american citizens. Now, Americans may understand why we need term limits, where an elected official can only serve one term. This way, politicians don’t have all of those years to become too powerful and corrupt, like they now do.

The consular cards are controversial because the Mexican Consulate doesn’t bother verifying applicants’ identities before issuing them. That’s why the FBI and Department of Justice [3] have determined that the cards are not a reliable form of identification.

Republicans on the House Administration Committee want to shore up voter registration rules in the wake of a Colorado study that found as many as 5,000 non-citizens in the state took part in last year’s election.

Rep. Gregg Harper (R-Miss.), the panel’s chairman, called the study “a disturbing wake-up call” that should cause every state to review its safeguards to prevent illegal voting.
“We simply cannot have an electoral system that allows thousands of non-citizens to violate the law and vote in our elections. We must do more to protect the integrity of our electoral processes,” Harper added.
Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler, a Republican, told the panel that his department’s study identified nearly 12,000 people who were not citizens but were still registered to vote in Colorado.
Of those non-citizen registered voters, nearly 5,000 took part in the 2010 general election in which Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet narrowly defeated Republican John Buck.

Holder Jr. is expected to enter the turbulent political waters of voting rights on Tuesday, signaling that the Justice Department will take an aggressive stance in reviewing new laws in several states that civil rights advocates say are meant to dampen minority participation in the national elections next year.
