House Passes Bill to Prevent Gang Members from Obtaining and Keeping Visas

On Thursday, House Republicans passed a bill aimed at preventing convicted and suspected gang members from entering the United States. The bill, dubbed the “Criminal Alien Gang Member Removal Act,” would also make gang-affiliation a deportable offense.

The only Republican to oppose the measure was Justin Amash, an open-borders proponent who is a part of the “libertarian” movement and represents Michigan’s 3rd District.

Many Democrats in Congress openly opposed the bill despite its stated goal of combatting violent gang activity inside the United States. “This legislation is an assault on the basic due process protections afforded to everyone in our nation,” claimed Representative Michelle Lujan Grisham, Chairwoman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.

Since taking office, the Trump administration has made it a priority to crack down on gang activity in the United States. Proponents of this bill claim it will help with that mission by targeting dangerous gangs like MS-13.

Stopping likely criminals from entering the United States is a key part of preventing crimes against Americans. It proactively heads-off lawlessness before it happens by refusing visas to applicants who have ties to gangs, cartels and/or other criminal organizations.

While passing this bill through a gridlocked Senate is likely a longshot, it’s encouraging to see the House take positive steps in combatting dangerous gangs like MS-13, and the criminal illegal immigration that accompanies their movements.

    Many—perhaps most—members of foreign gangs
joined AFTER they came to the USA.
So just keeping gang-members OUT of America
    by denying them visas
will have to be coupled with deportation efforts
aimed at gang members already living in the USA.

More fake news from the Los Angeles Times. In a story by Lisa Mascaro and Brian Bennett, they write:

“Experts have questioned the ability of a physical wall to deter illegal entries and some lawmakers from both parties have suggested other better options to better secure the crossings.”, and they go on to quote Sen. Chuck Schumer saying, “There are a lot better ways and a lot cheaper ways to provide security at the border.”

First of all their “experts” go unnamed, probably because they work for La Raza, but the people who DO know, the Border Patrol, say that walls and fences are very cost effective because it allows them to stretch their manpower out along the border. Because, hello, if there is not a physical barrier that illegals must take time to overcome, allowing the border guards to get to that spot, then the illegals simply run across the border and are gone most of the time. There’s a reason there are fences around prisons. Not because no one ever escapes, but because few are willing to try it, knowing the chances of getting over are extremely small. Thus 3 or 4 guards in towers replace having a guard every 50 feet.

The fact is that, invariably, those who say fences won’t work are the very open border and amnesty advocates who don’t WANT them to work. As far as Schumer, he’s still the same con artist who promised no more amnesties after the one in 1986, but Congress failed to keep their part and control the border. We have already tried those “better ways” and they are neither “better” or “cheaper”. He doesn’t want border control and never has. Another lying worm.
