The headline in the October 7, 2016 Washington Examiner was “DHS suspends immigration enforcement near Hurricane Matthew.” The article played the story as a pragmatic stance intended to avoid interference in humanitarian situations where local officials didn’t want to continue to be responsible for jailing illegal or criminal aliens wanted for deportation by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Based on past experience with hurricane Katrina when it devastated New Orleans in 2005, it is easy to be skeptical of the DHS’s motives. After Katrina, DHS also publically suspended enforcement operations, and illegal alien workers poured into the area looking for work as soon as the cleanup and rebuilding operations began. As a result, many low income local workers who lost their livelihoods because of the hurricane’s destruction complained that they were denied jobs because employers were taking advantage of the enormous influx of illegal workers’, willingness to work off-the-books for sub-standard wages.
Clearly, DHS failed to learn its lesson the first time.

One of the just released WikiLeaks from October 2013 has Hillary telling her Goldman Sachs corporate masters. behind closed doors naturally, that those who want to limit immigration are “fundamentally unAmerican”.
She’s a libertarian, plain and simple, with all the kookiness and blind belief in the golden calf of immigration. Anything else than her “open borders” is unacceptable to her. You notice there is no one asking her the question is there a limit? A billion people? Two? Instead she’s back to her no press conference mode with appearances on Ellen who just gushes all over her.
As Bernie has said before, her positions on immigration will have you working for three dollars an hour. You, that is. Another WikiLeaks today. Clinton aides express disappointment that the San Bernardino shooter is Muslim and John Podesta suggests it would be “better” if the shooter had an American sounding name. Translation, it would be better for Hillary because the fact the guy and his wife are Muslim makes it harder to peddle her Muslims are “peaceful and tolerant” propaganda. Is there no end to the cynical manipulation of these people.

Next we may have Hillary, whose chief aide Huma Abedin is a Muslim raised in Saudi Arabia, and her mother is a proponent of strict Sharia law, including death for leaving Islam. Hillary also keeps promoting the false narrative of Black Lives Matter, which started in Ferguson. Never mind that the Justice Dept said all the forensic evidence supported the story of officer Darren Wilson. So a thug gets turned into a hero and a good cop’s life is ruined.
My nephew is still waiting to get paid from FEMA from the last hurricane cleanup! The Illegals padded their accounts after blue-tarping roofs. They took so much business away from the American workers so much that FEMA supposedly ran out of money and nephew and co-workers were never paid. Consequently, many lost their businesses! I would think that the illegal aliens who participate in this cleanup could make a legal case that they have served their “punishment time” for illegal entry and can not be legally deported.

Just more of the propaganda. How do you suspend something you weren’t doing to begin with. It’s just like every other lie that this administration comes up with, like the recent report that found that only half of illegals are caught crossing the border, instead of the 80% they claimed. Which means all they have to do is try another time or two and they are likely to make it. But according to Hillary the border is “secure”.
There are some major holes in the stories of a couple of the women accusing Trump. The one on the plane said when he groped the “upper part” of her body she was going to “let it go” but then he went further. ??? Why would she do that, she didn’t work for him. How did she get to move into first class without paying anything.
The story in the Palm Beach Post makes little sense either. It says that the woman and the photographer she was working with were ” in a pavilion behind the main house in the middle of a group of people. To their left was Regis Philbin and his wife, Joy.” To the woman’s ” immediate right was Trump and his fiancee Melania.”
According to the woman “All of a sudden I felt a grab, a little nudge. I think it’s Ken’s camera bag, that was my first instinct.” Neither she nor the photographer saw Trump do anything. She made an assumption on no proof. What argues against her claim is that it was in a “group of people” AND Melania was right there. No matter what he does, it’s unlikely he would do it in front of her.
What in the hell does that have to do with the article?!? I’m not a Clinton supporter so don’t spout off about that. You’ve let this election consume you. Some advice…take a break from all forms of media for a day or two. For everyone’s sake.
I have no idea who you support. If you don’t like my posts no one is twisting your arm to read them. If you’re not “consumed” by this election you should be. Perhaps you missed the very chilling remarks made yesterday by this president in which he called for “truthiness tests” for our “wild wild west of information flow” and he said: “The answer is obviously not censorship but it’s creating places where people can say ‘this is reliable”.
But “obviously” what he means is censorship. Who gets to decide? Wanna bet that this site would not meet his “reliable” standard? This is one of the most important elections we have ever had. One candidate would destroy this country with her unlimited amnesty/open borders proposals. I just find it way too convenient that the media knew the WikiLeaks were coming and all of a sudden there are all these stories. But some of the leaks have shown collusion between the media and the Clinton campaign.
Need a double standard? When Hillary defended the man who raped a 12 year old, she claims she was just doing her job. But in an affidavit to the court {State of Arkansas vs.Thomas Alfred Taylor} she stated “I have been informed that the complaintant is emotionally unstable with a tendency to seek out older men and to engage in fantasizing.” Is that not saying she “wanted it”? Is that not attacking the victim? That is after she knew the ER doctor had written that she had “injuries consistent with rape” and she was 12 and looked younger. Would the press ever let it go if that was lawyer Trump?
Wayne, in a large way Leland’s post is pretty accurate. After all in this article we can read “DHS suspends immigration enforcement near Hurricane Matthew”. However, as most people know and FAIR has reported on numerous times, any real “immigration enforcement” was pretty much suspended the day Obama took office with or without a Hurricane.
