Foreign persons always were able to immigrate to the USA. They just had to wait until theysecured permission. Those, who finally achieved that , would wait several years to become proud citizens of their new country. Once having been given permission they did not become a burden to the USA. No entitlements, no special food stamps. no government allowance for subsidized rents. And if they couln’t make i, they returned to the country whence they came.
That’s what the people who keep talking about “when your grandparents came” refuse to acknowledge. There was no coming here and having a couple kids who are then US citizens and then claiming you can’t support them so the government [taxpayers] has to. You made it on your own. We attract exactly the wrong kind of people now. A hundred and more years ago you had to be an independent person with a lot of drive. Not come here and stand in line while the grocery clerk totals up your food stamps.
Not to mention that the costs of schooling now and then do not compare. When half the nation was small farmers in the 19th century, most kids only went to school for a few years in the winter, just to learn the basics of reading writing and math. Nothing compared to the huge amounts we spend now.
There is only one way that this problem will ever be solved, and that is to get rid of OBAMA first then line the border with Military people and close it down for good. No special passes to any one no matter how great or rich they may be.
When is this going to stop? The cost is going to bankrupt our country and I know that is Obama’s goal. God I wish Obama would put an end to Obama now.
