Too Little, Too Late – U.S. Warns New Illegal Aliens Wouldn’t Get Amnesty

“The United States issued a warning on Wednesday to migrants thinking of crossing the border, saying they won’t qualify for any potential immigration reform that might be enacted in the U.S.,” the AP reports.

“The U.S. Senate has passed a bill that would provide a path to citizenship for migrants, but it covers only people who illegally entered the United States before Dec. 30, 2011. Republican leaders in the House rejected the Senate bill and are still mulling their own measures, which could be even less generous.”

Ted Cruz: Passing Amnesty Guarantees GOP Won’t Win Senate

“Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) predicted Thursday that House Republicans pushing for passage of any amnesty package in 2014 will ensure Democrats and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid maintain control of the Senate. Not only that, but Cruz argued that all House Republican engaged in passage of any amnesty should put a “Harry Reid for Majority Leader” bumper sticker on their cars,” Breitbart News says.

“‘I think we’ve got an incredible opportunity to retake the Senate in 2014, to retire Harry Reid as Majority Leader, and the number one thing Republicans could do to mess that up is to refuse to stand for principle,’ Cruz said on Texas-based Michael Berry’s radio program.”

DHS Delivers Smuggled Aliens to Family Members Illegally in U.S.

“A federal judge in Texas is accusing the Department of Homeland Security of hand-delivering children smuggled into the United States to their illegal immigrant parents,” Fox News reported.

“U.S. District Judge Andrew S. Hanen revealed the practice in a blistering court order filed late last week. He said the ‘dangerous’ practice is effectively aiding human traffickers and particularly the drug cartels, which run many of these operations. ‘These actions are both dangerous and unconscionable,’ he wrote.”

Grassley Says Nominee Bent to Political Pressure on Investor Visas

“As Democrats in the filibuster-free U.S. Senate fill key administration vacancies, U.S. Sen. Charles Grassley assailed a Department of Homeland Security nominee for playing a key role in aiding Terry McAuliffe’s electric-car company raise funds through a visa-investor program,” Watchdog.org reports.

“‘Whistleblowers have provided my office with very troubling evidence. Much of the evidence involves the EB-5 regional center program, which (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Alejandro) Mayorkas is responsible for managing,’ charged Grassley, the top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, which oversees immigration issues.”

“‘The evidence appears to support allegations that Mr. Mayorkas and his leadership team at Citizenship and Immigration Services are susceptible to political pressure and favoritism,’ the Iowa Republican said.”

Immigration Problem Is Just Part of a Greater Disrespect for the Law By Our Elite

“If your first experience with American citizenship involves the Ruling Class waving off laws that apply to others – the poor saps still standing in line – because the illegal population is politically useful, what opinion will you form toward the rule of law? What else will you decide you’re “entitled” to, particularly after hearing the sales pitch from political operators who think you’re entitled to quite a lot?” says John Hayward at RedState.com.

“The entitlement mindset is hardly unique to illegal immigrants, of course. It’s everywhere, nourished well into the ranks of what we identify as the “middle class.” People ignore poorly defined, poorly enforced laws because they feel entitled to, or because they think there’s no real “victim” to be concerned with.”

Where there are Democrats and RINOs there is always a way. DACA’s amnesty for childhood arrivals applied to everyone up to 30 years of age.

I doubt Homeland Security will scrap its prosecutorial discretion and criminals-only deportation policies even if we do pass a comprehensive bill. Anyone who stumbles over the border is going to get a pass. Amnesty-minded politicians don’t have the courage to suffer the fallout from kicking out illegals because of a date and once a bill is passed, it only takes one amendment.

“On the video below [1], Senator Ted Cruz of Texas finally confirms just how bad he is on immigration. Rather than strongly opposing the Senate amnesty bill and completely opposing any form of mass legalization, Ted Cruz wanted to “fix” the Senate bill.

On the video, Cruz talks about what his amendments would do. This is what he supports:

Ted Cruz wants to legalize most of the millions of illegal aliens in the U.S.
Ted Cruz wants to double legal immigration
Ted Cruz wants to increase the H1B cap five times to 325,000
Legalizing illegal aliens but not putting them on the “path to citizenship” will not work as expected. As discussed here going back years, the Democratic Party will work night and day to put those former illegal aliens on the “path to citizenship”. The same dynamic that leads to the GOP supporting legalization will lead to them supporting those Democratic efforts. See this and this among others for past discussions.

In addition to those bad policies, Cruz uses the following talking points:

    system is broken
    secure the border
    living in the shadows”

I say F***k Ted Cruz, the dude wants about 320,000 people a year from India in H1b guest workers. The right wing Briebart doesn”t mention Mr Cruz would laid off 3 million Americans and replace them with tech workers from other countries. Ted Cruz and Mike Lee another Tea Party favorite support giving jobs to foreigners or real estate deals. In fact Cruz is just opposed to the current immirgation reform because of border security, if Cruz had his way he would support guest worker programs and have no immirgation limit of legal immirgation from Mexico, China and India.

What does it really matter anyway if “reform” does not apply to those who came after Dec. 30. 2011. Nancy Pelosi says just get here somehow, sneak across the border or overstay a visa, and we won’t make you leave. That is in effect amnesty, whether you came last year or will come a year from now. There are no consequences. None.

Now, do we really think that telling illegal aliens crossing now that they won’t get amnesty makes any difference? Would YOU believe it, when there have been several amnesties in the past, including the mass one in 1986 which was promised to be the only one? Would you even care, since it’s so easy to get fake documents showing you’ve been here since before the deadline, and since this administration is so willing to rubber stamp applications for DACA and to let even people already deported remain here?
