The “Gang of 8” bill, S. 744, is a 1,000-plus page “Obamacare-style” bill that grants amnesty to the estimated 11 million illegal aliens in the country and only promises for future plans to secure the border. The bill also grants broad new powers to the scandal-ridden Obama Administration and will cost an estimated $6.3 trillion.

I am a political independent. It was not without a certain amount of regret that I voted for Romney in the last election. However, Obama was clear about his intention of pushing just this kind of bill on the American public. WHERE WERE YOU LAST ELECTION?
This terrible bill gives a group of law-breaking foreigners American jobs, erodes wages and practically guarantees that we will never solve the illegals problem. Why are we committing national suicide?

S 744 is a complete disaster – THE TITANIC of BILLS about to hopefully get hit by an iceberg and get sunk.
What amazes me is the level of disloyalty the politicians are exhibiting to their own American people by letting in cheats and effectively keeping out law abiding people.

Why cant we take a page out of Canada’s book? They only let in people of good character, education and are able to add value and NOT be a drain on their welfare benefits…

The government gave them amnesty in 1986 and nothing was done to secure the border.
If they don’t secure the border, we’ll have the same problem all over again.

The stock market remains heavy with the Gang of 8 deal news. Clearly, amnesty is no winner for the economy. The only long-term effect will be to shift the country much farther to the anti-business left.

As noted, one of the things that’s escaping attention is the “broad new powers” this will hand to this administration. It will let the secretary of Homeland Security, and any future one, decide enforcement issues unilaterally by simply declaring what policies will and will not be followed. Essentially Congress will be signing away all it’s powers on the issue of immigration and enforcement. That is not the way the constitutional government of this country is supposed to work.

There are a dozen reasons to vote this bloated mess down, and the unchallenged power it places in the hands of a single person is one very big reason.
