150 Conservative Leaders, Organizations Sign Anti-Amnesty Letter
“Over 150 conservative leaders, groups and grassroots activists have signed an open letter opposing the Senate immigration reform bill. ‘We write to express our serious concerns regarding the Gang of Eight’s immigration bill, S. 744. We oppose this bill and urge you to vote against it when it comes to the Senate floor,’ the letter to be released Tuesday and obtained by The Daily Caller reads,” the Daily Caller says.
“‘Reforming our immigration system is an important priority. But S.744 is such a defective measure that it would do more harm than good. We urge you to vote against it and against any cloture vote to bring up the bill. Only then can a constructive, measured debate take place on how to improve America’s immigration policy,’ the letter reads.”
Liberals for Low Wages
“[I]s there any other situation [besides agriculture]where progressives are inclined to believe that low wages are the key to competitiveness, and that this is a good reason to keep wages low? Any other industry granted this exception to the general progressive view that workers deserve compensation commensurate with the dignity of labor as such?” asks Noah Milman in the American Conservative.
What would happen if agricultural labor were better-compensated? To some degree American agricultural enterprises would become less-competitive—we’d import more of some kinds of food from abroad . . . The American agricultural mix might change. America farms might focus more on those crops where there is a greater return to the application of capital, while more labor-intensive agriculture moves to countries with lower labor costs.”
Gang of Eight Fight Amendments
“A bipartisan group of senators begin their fifth full day of debating changes to the immigration reform bill Tuesday. So far, the so-called mark up process has left the sweeping overhaul of the nation’s immigration laws–which would legalize most of the country’s 11 million undocumented immigrants–largely untouched,” Yahoo News says.
“On Tuesday, the senators will address some of the final controversial changes to the bill, including increasing the number of visas for the high tech industry and whether to allow people in same-sex marriages to apply for green cards for their spouses.”
DHS Jumps to Counter Union Criticism
“Department of Homeland Security officials, responding to sharp criticism on Monday from a union representing 12,000 of its employees, said they had added many safeguards in recent years to protect against fraud and security violations by foreigners seeking to live in the United States,” the New York Times says.
“The officials reacted swiftly to a statement by Kenneth Palinkas, president of the National Citizenship and Immigration Services Council, in which he called on lawmakers to reject an immigration bill before the Senate, saying security procedures were weak for checking the backgrounds of millions of immigrants who would apply for immigration documents under the legislation.”

Who is Protecting the US Citizens? This is not a race issue. I am a 5th generation African American female. Why are illegal invaders more important than US citizens. Who is looking out for our overload of homeless, unemployed citizens. What about our children. Our system is already bankrupt. Who will care for these people. Where is the money coming from?? The tax payer will pay NOT the gang of 8. If the “gang” HAD TO CARE for these illegal invaders the bill would not have passed. MEXICAN INVESTOR CARLOS SLIM was the RICHES man in the WORLD until Bill Gates put him in second place a few days ago. Most of the proponents of this crime against America are wealthy people. The effects of this crime will not effect them. Only everyday working MIDDLE CLASS will suffer when this bill passes. We must remove all the offenders from congress immediately. The first charge should be: treason against the American people who trusted these traitors to protect them!
I’m glad more organizations and people are taking an interest — finally. A major problem I see in defeating this bill is the number of churches that support it. The Latter Day Saints and Catholic Church are two big ones that want open borders. Reid and Hatch especially are doing the church’s business instead of the people’s business – the church comes first. LDS wants to be able to send their annoying missionaries across borders without any hassle. The Catholic Church wants to dump it’s Mexican low income population on the U.S. taxpayers rather than taking care of them. Remember John Paul’s trip to Mexico condemning birth control and making a statement that the U.S. is a rich country that should help their neighbors. Perhaps that’s why the Mexicans feel so entitled to handouts in the U.S.
If those trying to force more on our already full to capacity welfare for working people to “keep up”” they may be looking for another job after the next election.this gang of 8 thinks the illegal immigrants will vote for them they are foolish! Exactly. “It would do more harm than good”. It brings in tens of millions more people to this country in the next decade and we presently have no idea of the people who are coming here now and what their loyalty to this country is. Like the Boston bombers and those who covered up for them, malcontents who despise this country and live off our welfare system. We attract the worst, the lawbreakers and welfare dependent. When we used to attract those who were willing to make it on their own hard work, because there was no taxpayer support to fall back on.
This bill virtually dismantles what little enforcement is still left in our present system. Whenever given the chance, this administration issues directives that run counter to enforcing the law. This bill will allow the secretary of Homeland Security to virtually set all our immigration policies single handed because Congress will be handing over that power, lock stock and barrel.

True, we even get food imported from Mexico. In fact, in Southern California a big user of illegal immirgants, Ventura is only the county that does agricultural, La, Orange, San Diego and the Inland Empire farm work has deccline, maybe the question should not focus on farmworkers but how we can reduce illegal immirgant maids and fastfood workers in La or Anahiem.
