Jeb Bush Says Legalization But No Citizenship

Jeb Bush Says Legalization But No Citizenship

“Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, the son and brother of presidents, says the United States should overhaul its laws to make immigration easier and to give illegal immigrants a way to legal residence, not citizenship,” NPR reports.

“Bush lays out his plan with co-author Clint Bolick in the new book Immigration Wars. Bush tells NPR’s Steve Inskeep that they propose legalizing undocumented immigrants ‘after there is a recognition that if people come here illegally, they have to pay a fine or do community service [and]make sure they don’t commit any serious crimes.'”

Gov. Brewer Says Obama Wants to Punish Arizona

“Gov. Jan Brewer on Monday doubled down on statements that President Barack Obama released hundreds of potentially dangerous illegal immigrants as a way to get back at Arizona. ‘I think it’s pretty clear, (they’re) not looking upon Arizona favorably because of the actions we have taken here,’ Brewer said,” AZFamily.com reports.

“They’re releasing what we believe to be criminals, illegal aliens out of jail and into our society not knowing who they are or what they are doing, so yeah, I do believe this is payback.”

Verizon CEO Endorses Amnesty

“Verizon Communications CEO Lowell McAdam is urging the Senate’s ‘Gang of Eight’ to press on with efforts to overhaul the nation’s immigration laws, calling it a ‘critical step to re-igniting’ the U.S. economy. ‘The current immigration system is a clear drag on our economy,’ McAdam wrote in letters sent to each of the senators in the bipartisan group on Monday. ‘The costs in underdeveloped capital, lost productivity, and wasted resources undoubtedly run into the billions,'” The Hill reports.

Colorado Tuition Bill Heads to a Vote

“Republicans in Colorado are helping send a bill giving illegal immigrants a chance at in-state tuition to its farthest point in the Legislature. The tuition proposal is nearing its final lap as the House planned to debate the measure Tuesday. Similar bills have cleared the Senate in recent years, but stalled in the House,” KOAA.com reports.

AS A FELLOW LATINO, WHO IS FROM NATIVE BORN HERITAGE IN THE SOUTHWEST USA, MARRIED TO A LEGAL WIFE FROM SOUTHERN MEXICO, LIVING IN A LATINO (MOSLY ILLEGAL) BARRIO OF DENVER, I AM RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ‘IMMMIGRANT’ BATTLE.’ . THE HIGH LIVING NATIONAL, AND LOCAL POLITICIANS ARE NOT EVEN NEAR OUR BARRIOS, OR ‘GEHTTOES’, SO CALLED. THEY DO NOT EVEN REALIZE, ON A REAL PERSONAL BASIS, THE MULTIPLE PROBLEMS CAUSED BY THE VIRTUAL FLOOD OF THESE UNWANTED ILLEGALS –FROM ALL THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES!! I AND MY PEOPLE DO–EVERY DAY!! THE UNSCRUPULOUS WELFARE SYSTEM HELPS ALL THE ILLEGALS WHO HAVE THESE BABIES BORN IN THE GOOD OLD , AND FOOLISH, US OF A TO GET THEIR VICIOUS CLAWS IN THE STUPID (FOR US) SYSTEM OF ‘AUTOMATIC CITIZENSHIP TO ANYBODY BORN HERE. IT IS NOT GUARANTEED IN THE USA CONSTITUTION–PERIOD!! THEY ALL—AND I DO MEAN–ALL, KNOW OF THIS, AND HAVE BABIES RIGHT AWAY, WHETHER THEY CAN AFFORD THEM OR NOT! I HAVE SEEN THIS MANY TIMES OVER THE LAST 50 YEARS. UNMARRIED ILLEGALS HAVE HAD MILLIONS OF ‘ANCHOR’ BABIES OVER THAT TIME TO INSURE, WITH THE HELP OF THE WELFARE AND ‘IMMIGRATION’ LAWYERS, A FORCED ENTRY INTO AMERICA,, AHEAD OF ALL THOSE WHO ARE APPLYING LEGALLY! GUESS WHAT—WE DO NOT OWE ANY ILLEGALS FROM ANY COUNTRY–AND THEIR INSISTENT AND LOUDMOUTH CONIVING SELF-APPOINTED ACTIVISTS ANYTHING AT ALL–PERIOD. BERTA GONZALEZ IS 100% RIGHT, AND I APPLAUD HER FOR HER RIGHTEOUS AND VERY BRAVE STANCE ON THIS MATTER. WE MUST PUSH OUR WIMPY, AND ‘BLEEDING HEART’ POLITICIANS TO STOP THIS ‘AUTOMATIC CITIZENSHIP’ FIASCO WHICH IS FAST RUINING OUR NATION, AND CRACK DOWN ON ALL WELFARE PROGRAMS WHO ARE ‘AIDING AND ABETTING’ ILLEGALS EVERYWHERE. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN IF WE DO NOT PUT ALMIGHTY PRESSURE ON THEM—NOW!! LET’S MOVE AMERICA!!

NO kind of legalization can work or be offered to illegals! AND Look at the 800,000 gangs in this country, yes they should be deported BUT lock them up and put them to HARD labor while incarcerated. After the fantasy Border is built, then march their asses to the border and enforce the border! I keep saying no more anyone from south of border allowed into this country! They have abused our border sovereignty and then DEMAND amnesty…we do not owe them anything! Our govt knew when they granted citizenship to those illegals babies born here that they could have simply told the truth of that ammendment, but beccause of political correctness and a word is left out they give citizenship to those rats! I am disgusted w/wwashington politics and politicians. They keep giving millions to laraza annually… laraza and the aclu should not have a voice in our judicial system or our govt. Politicians cannot keep messing this country up.

With all due respect, when you reward bad behavior you get more bad behavior. Allowing several million folks in the USA illegally to remain is rewarding their bad behavior since after all, that was the goal, to get to and remain in the USA.
This issue is very simple: secure our borders IMMEDIATELY using manpower and drones, and utilize our weapons trained returning veterans to keep it secured, and remove ALL magnets for coming illegally. In other words: No more government benefits of ANY kind, no more automatic birthright citizenship to children born of illegals, no more ability to work without valid permission to be in the USA which can be achieved via E-verify or another similar program, no more ability to vote fraudulently, no more ability to open any business without valid visa etc, no more enrollment in our free public schools without legal status, no more drivers licenses without legal status, and no more preferential status of any kind for anyone in the USA without having been approved for legal entry.
If our elected politicians were actually looking out for American citizens and those who have immigrated legally following all of our applicable laws, we would no longer have an illegal alien problem. Moreover, they are not “undocumented”, they have legal documents in THEIR country, nor are they “out of status” either their status is illegal alien. The few remaining illegals who have not returned to their country of origin will eventually be caught and incarcerated for committing crimes or be deported.
Jeb Bush and others want to put lipstick on this pig but it remains a pig. No amnesty, no reward of any kind to those who did not respect the law and continue to “demand” rights they have not earned. This country did just fine before waves of illegals entered and we will do just fine once they leave too.

Another politician who thinks by changing the names Americans will bow. Amnesty is Amnesty no matter who says it. Bush along with all the open border people are insolated from their actions it is the hardworking Americans who suffer. We have almost 8% unemployment and 50 million on food stamps because their income is shrinking and he wants to reward 11 to 20 million illegal’s by allowing them to compete for non existing jobs. Then with comprehensive immigration reform they want to increase above the over 1 million that is allowed each year now. No thanks Mr. Bush the other Bushes did to much damage to consider another one.

Everyone is missing a key point in the discussion regarding those illegally in the United States.
At most, the illegals could be offered a NONIMMIGRANT status; which is a temporary, not a permanent, status.
By granting an IMMIGRANT [permanent] status the illegals will become citizens virtually automatically, even if there is a time delay. A so-called “green card” is a permanent status; a precursor to citizenship.
A nonimmigrant category would be a legal status, so those here illegally could surface and function in society [This is ostensibly what amnesty advocates state as their base issue]. It could be renewable until they would qualify for an immigrant category in their own right. But there would be no automatic eligibility for immigrant status and citizenship.
Their illegal activity should not be rewarded with citizenship; not even immigrant status. Nor should they be eligible for tax-funded programs. We as a nation are not only broke, we are insanely in debt. Again, any foreign national in the United States illegally should have to qualify for immigrant status the same as would any other foreign national.
In 1986 we granted immigrant status to illegals, with a path to citizenship; and look where we are today. We have to stop the tail from wagging the dog again.

But then they couldn’t vote–the whole point to Democrats.

“so those here illegally could surface and function in society”

So all the talk about that being the motivation is a lie–as if we didn’t know.

It’s past time to serve citizens first & stop paying corruption to break our laws & Constitution!

Pass this on & add to it
We can create 12 million jobs (US avg. wage is $43.5K) = $522 billion; which will remove 12 million citizens from welfare, unemployment, free medical care, etc. @ $20K = $240 billion; by deporting 12 million illegals who are on all types of welfare, free medical care, free education, etc. @ $20K = $240 billion. Putting citizens to work by REMOVING ILLEGAL ALIENS (JOBS) adds $1+ trillion to the economy, enough to end Obama’s progressive deficit spending!

The “US” poverty level is $23K! The current US mandate that no person can be denied health care means that cost is passed on to workers and retirees who pay for medical care by cash or insurance provided by cash. That cost is widely estimated at well over $20/yr (ref. Obamacare OMB estimates). The use of “food stamp credit cards”, emergency room visits, education special care, etc. appears to be universally used by non-English speaking aliens! A significant percent of alien earnings are removed from the US economy. A significant portion of illegal labor is “underground”, paying slave wages and no taxes, which drives legitimate tax paying employers & producers out of business! Estimates run as high as $800+ billion/yr for just citizen subsidies to illegal alien occupiers! The lower and middle income citizens are hardest hit by this calamity.

The issue begins and ends with our executive and legislative officers. Their sworn obligation is to Constitution & law, citizens, and our sovereign nation, not aliens. Harboring and protecting law breaking aliens is a breach of oath! Using their power of office to change laws to accomodate law breakers over law abiding citizens and other aliens mocks justice! Don’t blame the aliens who come for a better life at the expense of citizens! The costs and destructive results of the illegal alien invasion are at the hands of our highest government officers.

The American people have had enough with our politicians worrying about these criminals that broke into our country. When are you going to start thinking of the unemployed American citizen. They are suppose to come first.. If the illegals can’t get jobs they’ll self deport, just like Romney says. And if Jeb Bush runs for President, there’s no way I’d vote for him, even though I’m a Republican. I, blame his brother for Obama being elected. I, know alot of people were so mad the money Bush spent when he was President. is the reason they voted for Obama. And these were Republicans. They didn’t think they were going to get someone worse then Bush. We, don’t need another Bush in the Whitehouse. And I wish the voters vote all these politicians that are working for the criminals to vote them out of office, Especially John Mc Cain and Linsey Graham. These illegals are going to tax us right out of our homes.

Jeb Bush is irrlevant to the functioning of the US government. We have enough problems with the idiots who actually are in office right now. Jeb – go golfing and save your money. You’re not going to be president. Your statement about immigration solutions is only one of many reasons why you will not be president. Fore!

There is a report out that says Australia has not been in an official recession for 21 years. Uh, how is this possible when you listen to all the proponents of mass amnesty? Supposedly this country needs even more of the mass immigration that we have had for the last three decades, to cure all our economic ills. Except that low immigration-low population growth countries like Japan and Australia are doing just fine.

Which is really what’s to be expected, because automation has replaced many jobs and massive numbers of low skilled workers are not a plus in today’s economies. Plus, in this country there have been literally hundreds of polls taken over the last 20 years that show virtually the same thing. Which is, baby boomers either expect, or want, to work at least part time past official retirement. So all these guest worker proposals fly in the face of the indisputable evidence that there is absolutely NO shortage of workers in this country. Just a shortage of workers able to support a family on the slave wages these companies want to pay.

I like your reference to Australia. I have visited there twice, I was amazed when I learned yhat our illegal population ia as large or larger than their total population. They are four fifths the size of our country

      • avatar

That’s true. Their total population is a fraction of ours, and they still worry about overpopulation.

  11. avatar

They Break Our Rules to Sneak Into Our Country

Then we reward them with jobs and no punishment?

If citizenship doesn’t mean the only way to legally work in America, besides it giving us voting rights for a bunch of open border sell-outs picked out for us….what the hades good is citizenship in America for anyway? To get drafted? Pay taxes?

Who cares whether it favors Dems or Reps picked out for us, they all want amnesty anyway….

  12. avatar

Legalizing illegals is amnesty. Republicans like Bush want that cheap labor, but they don’t want that cheap labor to vote. Bush also favors legalizing the flow of illegals as guest workers. That makes him worse than most Democrats.

    No More Bushes!

  13. avatar
    Concerned Citizen on

At least Jeb Bush seems to understand the implications of giving citizenship to millions upon millions of Democrats, both for the GOP and for the very notion of private ownership of property. If the country keeps veering leftward, eventually even the American people will belong to the government.

Some kind of legalization can work, but as a citizen and taxpayer I have prerequisites, including:

    1. Transparent labor market with congressional oversight to make sure able-bodied citizens get jobs first
    3. E-verify in the workplace
    3. End anchor baby/birthright citizenship
    4. Periodic impact studies at the congressional level to measure impact of immigration numbers
    5. No citizenship for illegal immigrants, ever
    6. Limits on the number of naturalized citizens, with citizenship granted according to the national interest

    • avatar

Amen to that brother they broke the law don’t give them anything enforce the laws that’s on the books

    • avatar
      Percy Mervyn on

The problem of legalization is there is a law suit just waiting to be filed. It would be to grant citizenship to them because they are disenfranchized. The only solution is Attrition through Enforcement that would result with a strong E-Verifying law

  14. avatar

“Legalization, not citizenship.” What’s the difference? They’ll stay here and garner all the benefits that our government is so eager to hand out. If they’re legalized, they will be marching demanding citizenship. You can’t
win with this bunch of entitlement seekers. They’re bleeding us dry and like the plagues mentioned in the Bible, they will relentlessly march across this country until we are the next third world. Then they’ll be happy.
