In response to the Obama Administration’s deferred action amnesty initiative that took effect last week, the National ICE Council, which represents over 7,000 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents nation-wide, issued a petition asking ICE Director John Morton to stop punishing ICE agents for enforcing the law. (National ICE Council Petition Page, Aug. 2012)
The petition, which as of today has over 53,000 signatures, denounces ICE policies that restrict ICE agents from initiating deportation proceedings for illegal aliens and instead penalize agents who attempt to enforce immigration laws. (Id.) The petition reads, “By threatening your law enforcement officers with suspension for exercising their discretion, you are sending the message that, rather than having discretion to determine who is eligible for amnesty, ICE officers are required to turn a blind eye anytime they encounter any illegal alien…”(Id.)
The most recent example of this retaliation occurred in July, when an ICE agent was reprimanded for failing to release an illegal alien with a record of ten traffic violations, including driving without a license. (FOX News, Aug. 2, 2012) According to the National ICE Council, “the agent’s supervisors overruled him and ordered him to release the illegal alien.” (National ICE Council Petition Page, Aug. 2012) The agent now faces a three-day suspension for arresting “a non-targeted alien,” and could be at risk of losing his job and his retirement. (FOX News, Aug. 2, 2012)
The bind ICE agents find themselves in stems directly from the Obama Administration’s amnesty agenda. In 2011, ICE Director John Morton issued a series of memos (commonly referred to as the Morton Memos) directing agents to use “prosecutorial discretion” to release and otherwise ignore any illegal aliens who do not fit the Administration’s enforcement “priorities,” such as those convicted of certain violent crimes. (See FAIR Summary of the Morton Memos, Jan. 2012) The Administration’s amnesty agenda gained additional footing last week when DHS Secretary Napolitano’s June memo granting “deferred action” status to over one million illegal aliens under the age of thirty took effect. Not only does this backdoor amnesty circumvent Congress, but it compromises public safety by making ICE agents afraid to do their jobs. A CRS report released by the House Judiciary Committee last month revealed that of the total number of illegal aliens caught and subsequently released from ICE custody, “17% of illegal and criminal immigrants, or 26,412, were rearrested on criminal charges. These 26,423 recidivists accounted for a total of 42,827 arrests and 57,763 alleged violations.” (House Judiciary Committee Press Release, July 31, 2012; see also CRS Report, July 27, 2012)
Immigration continues to be a very controversial subject in the U.S. Given that it’s a presidential election year, it will no doubt have an impact on how people vote come November.
These people who don’t want people enforcing the law should be removed to jail or deported too for ignoring the law and support breaking the law is a crime and they should be punished right along with the other lawbreakers.
Reading this article can only be described as a trip into the twilight zone!
American security forces who have been trained to protect our nation by preventing people from another country from entering this nation illegally are now required to beg to accomplish this goal? The insanity is overwhelming.
These patriots must fight a legal battle in their efforts to demand that they be allowed to enforce our constitutional laws. What insane legal eagle devised this plan? Let’s assess the facts:
Congress continues to stand idly by as Janet Napolitano assaults our federal immigration laws by daring anyone to question her right to rewrite and interpret these laws to benefit the illegal aliens. The path she travels dangerously coincides with the path of treason for her stated goals protect people from another country at the cost of the people of the United States. Is her action any less corrupt than the path of our current president?
President Obama crossed the lines of political honor and legality by stating that his decision will circumvent any negative Congressional decisions regarding his Dream Act!
News flash, mr obama! The elected office of the President of the United State does not simultaneously grant the power of a deity. You are but a cog in the wheels of this great nation and Time has proven that ultimately, a useless cog will be removed and replaced.
Think about this when you next determine that your solitary decision is golden and cannot be disputed.
Our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is exploited by this president and his administration in their overt decision to interpret our laws to protect the illegal aliens instead of the American people.
There is no confusion on Capitol Hill or in the White House….buy the hispanic votes at all costs, particularly those of the illegal aliens, and ignore the staggering cost required of America’s citizens!
When the dedicated and courageous vanguard of our nation’s security has been reduced to demanding that they be allowed to enforce the laws they have sworn to protect, then there is without a doubt a frightening paradox existing within the confines of this nation’s political entities!
I am beyond angry that we are required to battle corruption within the political scenario in our government, but when the highest office in the land has encouraged the decay of trust within our Congressional members, then my anger becomes traumatized. I am furious!
The realization that trust in our government electorate is no longer valid is alarming: words like treason and revolution are becoming mandates instead of catch phrases in conversation.
America needs patriots, for this nation’s future looms dismally on the horizon as a result of the illegal alien invasion.

It really is a slap in the face for us veterans who put their life on the line to protect our laws and country.
We have certain elected officials that are to represent the people of the United States, (NOT) we have ourselves in a bad situation, as we all know. All my life I have been told it starts at the top and works it way down. It’s so terrible that certain elected people think they are above the law, do what they want, not what the majority of the people want. I have learned over the years, if you want to know where the corruption is – just follow the money. We the people just do not have what it takes to stand-up for whats right like our forfathers did. We have a few groups who are fighting to keep our freedom while we sit back and watch, wish and hope things get back the way the were. It don’t happen that way. Nothing will ever get done without action. So, if we think it’s too much trouble to do anything, at least support those who are trying, weather it be with time, skills or money – let us please put America back on track for our future generations.

How ironic it is that Americans are to obey the laws of our country or face prosecution — yet a president can pick what laws to enforce — while congress does nothing! What puts these political autocrats above the laws they created and passed? Immigration laws, secure fence act, doma and voter intimidation to name a few. Each American should demand that the gov’t enforce ALL laws or the voters will enact the true form of term limits and vote these politicians out of office.

The law makers put the laws in. The great Pretender ignores them and puts out his play executuve orders which have no legal standing but in sheep fashion, they are obeyed.
Congress & House of Reps should have federal or even better, squads of State Police from many states arriving and hauling this pretender to a military prison for the rest of his unnatural life.
SO NOW YOU NEED THE RIGHT TO ENFORCE IMMIGRATION, NOW THAT TAKES THE CAKE? OUR COUNTRY IS GOING DOWN & DOWN WHEN THE LAW MAKERS DO NOT DO THE JOB THEY GET PAID TO DO.
You can correct this by going to the polls Nov. the 6Th and then we throw the bums out, keep the best agents and deport the rest.
