Los Angeles no longer wants to impound the vehicles of people who are caught driving without a license. They don’t explicitly say so, but the overwhelming majority of people cruising the streets of L.A. without licenses are illegal aliens, and it has long been the city’s policy not to do anything that might inconvenience illegal aliens.
Los Angeles Times columnist Jim Newton thinks the policy being promoted by LAPD Chief Charlie Beck is a great idea. “Beck’s approach strikes me as humane and sensible,” he wrote. Two days later, Newton followed up with a second column disdainful of those who wrote to disagree with him and describing driving without a license as a “trivial offense.”
For L.A. County resident Don Rosenberg, driving without a license is anything but trivial and Beck’s policy is anything but “humane and sensible.” Rosenberg’s son was killed by an unlicensed driver, and a repeat offender at that. His poignant response should be read by everyone – especially Chief Beck – who believes that we need to bend the rules to accommodate illegal aliens.

The Los Angeles Police Dont enforce any laws! illegal aleins and criminals get illegally aquired drivers lisences through the DMV or they just go to Mcarthur Park at pick up a fake one. like Charlie Beck’s own crack selling daughter did . just drive up to the park , they come out and ask you if you need one. 30 minutes later youve got one. right out there in the open. everybody knows about it . Beck cant even keep a handle on his own daughter.

Frederico Reyes is illegal, attempted to rape me gets 5 years with time served and he gets paroled 12/12/12, not serving but from April 20,2010 when he was arrested, to Dec 12, 2012 They tried to parole him Sept 14,2011, and I showed the parole board the pictures of my swollen, black &blue mouth &eyes, injuries on arms &legs.He was denied. I’m a victim of an assault and attempted rape in Goose Creek,SC on April 20,2010. He knocked on the door if my friend’s trailer. I opened it. And Frederico Reyes came in me. Knocking me backwards, I had the fight of my life. He was biting my mouth as he was trying to get my clothes off me. I remembered Jujitsu and got the chance toout my knee between us and face a hard push knocking him out the door. He was arrested and charged. The Prosecutor plead him to Third degree and checked Nonviolent on the sentencing sheet I t devastated me. How can violent facial and arms and legs injuries be labeled nonviolent? Its about violent crimes in counties statistics. I’m going to make a difference. I want laws changed and you police chiefs to remember that “I don’t want it to happen to your wives, your daughters, and your mothers or your grandmothers”, I want it stopped, do something to protect American Women. The assault affected me, my family, and all who know me. I know some who have been attacked but were failed by the system, and some victims which are afraid to come forward. Women of crmes I’m here for you.

Remember the times when the majority ruled and the minority had to go along? Since when did the minority start ruling? The ILLEGALS are getting “free passes” for just about everything these days. If they keep popping out the ILLEGAL babies, someday WE will be the minority! Do you think they will pay for anything WE need? By that time I will be well armed. I cringe to think that Law Enforcement thinks that driving without a license is a “trivial offense”. I bet Don Rosenberg does’t think so. My condolences to him.
My thoughts are that corporate America will be the way to stop this crap. when the insurance underwriters are tired of being sued for every repair that is made by their own policy holders because of the fact that an uninsured motorist was the offending party, and their insured wants what they paid for protection, and the state has no money to cover these illegal driver’s aliens, and scofflaws. they’ll not write policy’s when they can’t depend on enforcement of common sense traffic law’s, and licensing law’s. no insurance business will leave the state.

Did anyone notice, and I have not read all the comments,
how Mr. Rosenberg still proclaims to be a left-wing
liberal and wants illegal aliens to be able to get drivers
licenses. He just doesn’t get it like so many of his ilk.
His son died because of left-wing liberals or at least they

I have heard of this poor man, and wish there was something that could be done. I will not give up, however. Did we elect Charlie Beck? How gross can you get!

Ryan I commend you on you accuracy, but do you really have to sugar coat things here to get it posted. Things are much worse, you’ve only scratched the surface. Also you miss spelled it, it’s not mexifornia, it’s commiefornia.
This is unbelievable. Something has to be done. Why do we have laws? Are laws only for Americans? When Mexicans drive across the border, why don’t they have to have proof that their cars are smogged and have insurance? When they come across, they should have a valid drivers license, proof of smog and insurance. If they don’t, they don’t drive across. That will cut down on the traffic and accidents!!! Any way we can inforce that???
We need to start making the government accountable for all the stupid policies they pass, to cater to illegal aliens. I am in CA and I am sorry for that poor man that loose his son, because people in our government refuse to enforce our laws, if something like that ever happen in my family, I will use all my money if necessary to put in jail all those responsible of not enforcing the laws, because they are nothing less than criminal themselves.
Yet legal citizens stand online at motor vehicle for HOURS to get or renew their license–and we have to show up with 6points of identification to prove WE are legal? Seriously!!!!
