Oh no! It’s happened again. Alabama’s unemployment rate continues to plummet.
Ever since Alabama began implementing its immigration enforcement law, H.B. 56, in late September, the state’s unemployment rate has been dropping like a stone. In just the first month the law was in effect, unemployment in Alabama shrank from 9.8 percent of the workforce to 9.3 percent. And now the latest figures are in…and the news couldn’t be worse (for the Obama administration, the illegal alien lobby, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce that is): Alabama’s unemployment rate checked in at 8.1 percent in December. That’s more than a 17 percent reduction since September.
No wonder the Department of Justice sued Alabama and its Civil Rights division continues to harass state agencies, even though the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals has agreed that all but a few provisions of the law could go into effect. Illegal aliens are responding to the law by leaving, which is not what the Obama administration or the illegal alien lobby want. And lots of jobs being vacated by illegal aliens are being filled by American workers, which is not exactly good news to cheap labor interests which have insisted that only illegal aliens would do those jobs.
Why the next thing you know, other states might get the idea that they too can reduce illegal immigration, tame unemployment, and cut costs by enacting similar policies. People might even start to wonder why the federal government isn’t doing it.

Celine, I have a solution to Google’s ideological blindness. I use Dogpile, a meta search engine. Dogpile.com searches numerous websites and presents the results thereof. So if Google demotes something it doesn’t like and Yahoo or Bing doesn’t, I still see a reasonably complete listing.

The Feds – who are all either globalists or communists or both – are scared to death of another 90s-style American-worker driven boom. That is why they have to flood us with overwhelming numbers of foreign workers – to make sure we don’t get ahead of anyone else in the world. That might create too much international jealousy among the 3rd world nations. It might also make the American people more powerful than the elites who are all on ego trips. Actually, WE do not enforce the law. What school did you go to? Yes, we do elect people, but unfortunately not all of them are on the up-n-up. They lie to us and pretty much say what they think we need to hear, and then then vote how they want, with their pockets a little more padded, of course.
We tried to enforce the law in Northern California, in fact, tried to split us from S.F. up, but too many minorities to allow that. We now have a crime rate than has quadrupled because – there are laws that we did NOT vote on and our officials will not enforce.

He inherited most all of the problems that he has had to deal with while bullheaded Republicans, whose only concern is to get their party back in power, continue to bring down our country instead of getting things done. The only thing that the state of CA has done right since I’ve been here for the last 4 years is pass a law that says the state representatives will not get paid as long as they stall on passing a budget. As horrible as Bush was he never created the type of problems that Obama has over the last five years. He didn’t blow trillions on bail outs for Wall Street or bogus companies. He didn’t have 20 million people out of work and on the streets losing their homes. He didn’t have 40 million on food stamps and disability. He didn’t turn illegals out of jails and detention camps and dump them back on the American people. He didn’t order ICE not to deport illegals. He COULD prove his citizenship and all of his school records were available to those to wanted to see them. He didn’t spend his days on the golf course. He took very few vacations. He didn’t **** with the enemy (he didn’t BOW to Saudi kings and he didn’t appoint known enemy Muslim Brotherhood members to his cabinet); He didn’t try to force socialized medicine down our throats. He didn’t try to socialize the auto industry and the banks. He didn’t use excessive executive orders and he didn’t have a hundred self appointed czars in order to skirt Congress. He didn’t run guns to the drug cartels. He didn’t encourage illegal voting practices. The Saudis didn’t pay his way through school and expect a huge payback by subverting our government.

2) Public Construction Jobs (County and City)
3) Privately owned Construction Jobs;

I wish that just a fraction of them would try to understand why we feel like we do. You don’t have to be white, just legally here to get angry at the billions of dollars that WE spend on them. Would they or their country do the same for us? HE__ NO!!!!
If all these people that are fighting tooth and nail for amnesty for all these illegals would take the time to research Mexican immigration policy, they would get an eye full. Mexico has some of the most rigid immigration laws on the planet. “That is what makes them so hypocritical in trying make the US look bad for wanting to close our borders to all of their poor citizens that they cant seem to take care of. If you try and sneak into Mexico and get caught you have the choice between a bullet or a long prison term in some rathole.

Talk about becoming a third world country in a hurry. Where do these companies think they are going to sell their products if there are no jobs to support the American consumers?

Obama Administration Challenges Arizona E-Verify Law
The Obama administration has asked the Supreme Court to strike down a 2007 Arizona law that punishes employers who hire illegal aliens, a law enacted by then-Governor Janet Napolitano. (Solicitor General’s Amicus Curiae Brief). Called the “Legal Arizona Workers Act,” the law requires all employers in Arizona to use E-Verify and provides that the business licenses of those who hire illegal workers shall be repealed. From the date of enactment, the Chamber of Commerce and other special interest groups have been trying to undo it, attacking it through a failed ballot initiative and also through a lawsuit. Now the Chamber is asking the United States Supreme Court to hear the case (Chamber of Commerce v. Candelaria), and the Obama Administration is weighing in against the law.
To date, Arizona’s E-Verify law has been upheld by all lower courts, including the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. The Ninth Circuit, in particular, viewed it as an exercise of a state’s traditional power to regulate businesses. (San Francisco Chronicle, June 2, 2010). Obama’s Justice Department, however, disagrees. Acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal said in his filing with the Supreme Court that the lower courts were wrong to uphold the statute because federal immigration law expressly preempts any state law imposing sanctions on employers hiring illegal immigrants. Mr. Katyal argues that this is not a licensing law, but “a statute that prohibits the hiring of unauthorized aliens and uses suspension and revocation of all state-issued licenses as its ultimate sanction.” (Solicitor General’s Amicus Curiae Brief, p. 10). This is the administration’s first court challenge to a state’s authority to act against illegal immigration, and could be a preview of the battle brewing over Arizona’s recent illegal immigration crackdown through SB 1070.
Napolitano has made no comment on the Department of Justice’s decision to challenge the 2007 law, but federal officials said that she has taken an active part in the debate over whether to do so. (Politico, May 28, 2010). As Governor of Arizona, Napolitano said she believed the state law was valid and became a defendant in the many lawsuits against it. (Id.).

Just because an illegal has a child in the US should not make that child an automatic American citizen. What about our military that have children in Germany or Korea…that child is not German or Korean..they are “American citizens born abroad”…children of illegals should be “Mexican citizens born abroad” and NOT entitled to all the benefit that are suppose to be for Americans.. The present interpretation of the 14th amendment by our courts is an uber liberal position and does not reflect the original intent of the amendment. Every one of these “anchor babies” born to foreign parents should be thrown out along with all of the other criminal invaders. It should be considered an act of treason by our government and those responsible should be severly punished.

Putin is initiating a crackdown on illegal immigration in Russia also. It could just be that it makes sense, contrary to what the Obama administration thinks. Cut unemployment and the budget deficit at the same time and eliminate the push for amnesty. The Department of Labor has launched a special program to assist and protect illegal immigrant workers in the U.S., referred to as “vulnerable” and “underpaid” by the presidential cabinet member who heads the agency.
Hundreds of new field investigators have been deployed to reach out to Latino laborers in areas with large numbers of illegal alien employees. Their message, in Spanish, is “we can help” bring workplace protections to the nation’s most vulnerable and underpaid workers, including those who have no legal right to live in the Untied States.

Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, a former California congresswoman with close ties to the influential La Raza movement, announced the “We Can Help” project with great fanfare a few days ago. A total of 1,000 investigators from her agency will focus on enforcing labor and wage laws in industries that typically hire lots of illegal aliens without reporting anyone to federal immigration authorities.

The same day Solis publicly announced the Obama Administration’s new project, a Labor Department investigator visited a day laborer center in northern California to promote it. The federal employee actually chatted warmly with the illegal immigrants about how to find jobs without being exploited, according to a local newspaper report. “We’re the feds but the good ones,” he told the day laborers in Spanish. “We’re here to help workers.”
The agency has also launched a Spanish television advertising campaign to spread the word and created a web site. Workers in industries from construction to food service are urged to contact the Labor Department of wage and hour violations. An investigator may be deployed to the work site or the employer may be taken to court.

We have, here in California, conservative radio talk show hosts who don’t want e-verify, because they would then have to pay workman’s compensation. In Arizona the heir to Burger King, a major GOP contributor, has opposed their new law.. The facts are, although the margin is thin, polls show Democrats are opposed to illegal immigration more than Republicans.

Cost of produce will triple at the stores! If you take to to READ the hard cost by raising the cost to pick the crop in the field does not increase the price by that factor. May do everyone some good to spend time in the field and see what it takes to get food to your table.

Remember…the workers doing some of those jobs (that no one wants mind you, I know this because none of the people I know CURRENTLY unemployed, risking losing their house, etc., are interested in even considering working in the fields) are not making anywhere close to minimum wage, no benefits, no pension. Let’s say they are making $5/hr…bring in a documented worker, you have to go to $10/hr for the pickers alone. That hourly wage skyrockets as each undocumented worker is replaced. We aren’t just talking pickers…we are talking drivers (more skilled, insurance required, etc….HIGHER hourly payment)…and everywhere else along the line. Americans complain about the costs of food as it is, can you imagine the outrage?

No its proven that the cost of goods would only increase by as high as 1.5 penny per dollar. Factually the cost of goods would decrease if the farmers invested in machinery for automation but their to cheap and greedy and to stupid and get to many subsidies, to realize by spending a little more on automated equiptment there profits would rise significantly in the long run.
There is no reason on earth that an orange should cost $25.00 unless you have it sent home in a taxi cab! We all ready ship produce haft way around the world, and the price at the store barely changes so don’t tell me that by paying the help better we the consumer we be gouged anymore than if we import all the fruit & nuts we use. No we’ll just have some farmers, and ranchers with a little less profit, and they will find away to get that back. I’m a potato grower, and have been around for 68 years, we picked by hand, and now by big harvesters, we now hire more people, and have a huge payroll compared to when I took this farm over. The equipment is expensive but people cost more to replace so we still have a few old guy’s that worked with me when I was younger, and that’s just at harvest when we do some partying after we’re done working. We would have been gone years ago had we not had well paid hard working people, and yes many were migrant workers that came every year, and when the laws changed so did we as sponsors. Only two of the original nine men went home, and didn’t come back by the way all are citizens.
Don’t give me some BS about the US NEEDING illegal immigrant workers when we’ve killed 54 million of our own would-have-been workers since 1973 with saline abortions. The US does not NEED immigrants to plow our fields, we need to stop murdering our own. This didn’t just happen. Send illegal immigrants back to Mexico, and allow our own a chance at life.

My ancestors are from germany but if they started blocking here as illegals, I would do everything in my power to see it stopped. I have no problem with people from other countries coming to the United States as long as they do it legally. I happened to work for Alabama Medicaid (retired now) and I can’t tell you the money that it cost to take care of all the illegals. Medicaid has little money and it should be spent on US citizens when they need it and not someone 9 months pregnant who just wants to deliver here so they can stay with their US citizen baby. Stinks.

The illegal Mexican was 30 and I a grandmother. I am devastated that the prosecutor Ann Williams plead him to 3degree labeling him as nonviolent after he attacked me, bit my mouth and butted my head with his. This was violent and I’ m having a hard time knowing my rights as an American meant nothing. That’s an example of how they keep attacking raping and killing American women across our country. I’m not going to stop speaking out. I ‘m strong willed and want changes.

I was attacked and nearly raped by Frederico H. REYES,30, ILLEGAL Mexican living in a trailer owned by Chinese Palace Restraint in Summerville SC. Where he worked. I was at my friends trailer alone because I had just been told my sister died & Wes had a pool tournament at 7:00pm. I was too upset to go, so Wes told me to wait on him. When he left the Mexican knocked on the door & when I opened it he came in knocked me backwards and the fight to keep from being raped began. He bit my lower lip and butted my head with his trying to stun me. When he bit my mouth I knew I was in trouble, & I remembered jujitsu I had taken years ago, and used it, when he moved I got my knee between us & pushed. him off me. He went backwards out on porch. Bent the door. He was arrested & charged with assault wit intent to commit criminal sexual conduct 2nd degree. I was so upset I was hyperventlaiting & crying. There was a knife too.He would have killed me. At court he was plead to 3rd degree & nonviolent was marked on sentencing sheet, done by prosecutor with microphone off. I didn’t know until I got copies from clerk. I am devastated over it. He’s labeled as nonviolent % came up for parole 9/14/11. I showed the parole board pictures of my face, his teeth prints on my face & bruises. He wasn’t paroled, but he walks out free 12/12/12 because Ann Williams plead him to3rd degree He got more rights than I have.I’m fighting Berkeley Co.SC so this doesn’t t happen to another victim They didn’t protect my rights as a victim SOVA only pays for counseling &medical. I lost $330.00 and a ring in the struggle to save myself. Live 5 News, Harve Jacobs did story. 8/15/11 and parole denied 9/14/11. He showed pictures of my injuries too. The Gazette on front page Dec. 9,2010 after court. I have to continue to get HIV & Hepetatis rests. I had to demand he get tested. & he wasn’t until Nov. 16,2010. I was in hospital 8/2&3,2010 from stress. I spoke before Senate & House to help get our Immigration Bill passed. I was there when Gov Haley signed it.I’m not the only victim of illegal Mexicans attacks, I’m one of more across our nation. Just a quick fact check.
USA unemployment fell from 9.1 % in september to 8.5% in December. The means that the Alabama unemployment rate fell only marginally more than the national average. I somehow doubt illegal immigration had much to do with the national rate falling, and therefore also doubt that it had much impact in alabama.
The many bills passed by the GOP giving tax incentives for companies to relocate may, however, have had an impact.

The difference between a decrease from 9.8% to 8.1% and a decreas from 9.1% to 8.5% is not marginal. It is quite significant. Alabama’s unemployment fell by more than 17%. The national unemployment fell by about 7%. In other words, Alabama saw its unemployment rate reduced nearly 2 1/2 times faster than the nation as a whole.

Alabama and a few other states are making a real effort to stop illegal immigration to America. The best way to accomplish this is for every state to pass a law requiring employers, banks, and apartment owners to do an E-verify check before hiring someone, before granting a mortgage to someone, or renting an apartment to someone. If an illegal immigrant cannot find work, get a mortgage, or rent an apartment, they will not come here.
Amen! All states should adopt this bill. These “illegals” are really not adding to our economy but are draining our monetary, educational and health care resources! What’s more, they don’t pay taxes and they send money “out of the country”,

I heard there are 13,000,000 unemployed American Citizens; and 12,000,000 EMPLOYED illegals. If we dump the illegals, that would be a net decrease of 12,000,000 unemployed Citizens. What more reason do the Feds need???
I applaud what Alabama has done and it should be held out for praise for its leadership! Bravo!
But I think the percentage drop in unemployment is 1.7% (not 17%) which is still excellent.
I would have to say this is good news. If only obama would get our immigration laws enforced, we might open up 7-8 million jobs for Americans. The illegal aliens who don’t have our jobs, are using this country as a welfare country with all their anchor babies (illegal alien children). The DREAM Act. All that does is put more illegal aliens in direct competition with American children. Get rid of all the illegal aliens and we will get rid of all the problems that go with them. THAT IS A FACT!

Yes that’s right, all the states should adopt similar laws to vacate the jobs for American citizens and legal residents, regardless of what the Obama administration, the Chamber of Commerce and the illegal Immigration advocates want. California should be at the top of the list, that will solve a lot of the employment issues and financial issues in the state, but unfortunately no one in Sacramento have the back bone to do what is right for the citizens of the CA. They find pride instead, bringing up the number of illegals in the state and using fear in the Hispanic community, by calling the fight against illegal immigration, a fight against immigrants in general, when we all know it is NOT.
